The Forest, House of animals
An exhibition by the Maison du Salève
This season, the Auberge des Dauphins welcomes the exhibition produced by the Maison du Salève : The Forest, House of animals. Specially designed for children aged 3 to 10, it invites us to discover the forest through its inhabitants : the animals.
The forest is a place where many animals have found refuge from human expansion. It is their home range. The place where they shelter, feed, reproduce, raise their young, protect themselves, live socially or solo. They live on every floor.
Come and plunge into the heart of the forest, slip into the skin of the animals and live on their scale… Where do dormice sleep ? What do earthworms eat ? How do birds shower ?
In this sensitive and poetic exhibition, the forest is organized like a human home. You’ll find the fawn’s bedroom, the squirrel’s kitchen, the badger’s bathroom… With books to leaf through, panels to lift and illustrations to look at (by children’s illustrator Evelyne Mary).
A fun trail to awaken the senses and raise awareness of the animal world that surrounds us, right here, a stone’s throw from home.
